Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Real Estate & Construction and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.58% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index gained 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 14.80% or 0.410 points to trade at 3.180 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 3.70% or 0.040 points to end at 1.120 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 1.75% or 0.060 points to 3.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 2.61% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.120 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 1.38% or 0.020 points to end at 1.430 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was down 0.46% or 0.010 points to 2.180.
The top performers on the ADX General were Fujairah Building Industries Co PSC (AD:FBI) which rose 15.00% to 1.38, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was up 5.05% to settle at 3.330 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which gained 4.32% to close at 2.900.
The worst performers were Emirates Ins C (AD:EIC) which was down 9.70% to 6.05 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 5.58% to settle at 2.540 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 5.26% to 0.9000 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 22 to 7 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 18 rose and 10 declined, while 6 ended unchanged.

Shares in Emirates Ins C (AD:EIC) fell to 3-years lows; down 9.70% or 0.65 to 6.05. Shares in Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.32% or 0.120 to 2.900.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $45.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $46.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.70% or 9.35 to trade at $1322.95 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED fell 0.11% to 4.0441.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 97.16.
