Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.29%, while the ADX General index gained 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which rose 1.93% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) added 1.33% or 0.080 points to end at 6.090 and Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) was up 1.23% or 0.030 points to 2.470 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 3.08% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.260 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 1.44% or 0.030 points to end at 2.060 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 0.93% or 0.030 points to 3.200.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which rose 4.11% to 0.760, Union Cement (AD:UCC) which was up 4.00% to settle at 1.300 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 3.45% to close at 5.40.
The worst performers were Foodco Holding PJSC (AD:FOOD) which was down 3.33% to 5.80 in late trade, International Holding Company PJSC (AD:IHC) which lost 2.68% to settle at 1.45 and Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which was down 1.74% to 1.130 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 15 to 12 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 7 fell and 7 advanced, while 13 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.81% or 0.39 to $47.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.42% or 0.22 to hit $52.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.75 to trade at $1303.65 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.06% to 4.3816.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 92.40.
