Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.27%, while the ADX General index gained 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 3.59% or 0.033 points to trade at 0.953 at the close. Meanwhile, Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) added 2.48% or 0.080 points to end at 3.310 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was up 1.95% or 0.01 points to 0.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR), which fell 1.33% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.518 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 0.93% or 0.010 points to end at 1.060 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was down 0.88% or 0.010 points to 1.130.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which rose 12.50% to 3.600, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was up 11.11% to settle at 0.600 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 5.08% to close at 0.620.
The worst performers were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was down 10.00% to 2.610 in late trade, Umm Al Qaiwain Cement Industries Co PSC (AD:QIC) which lost 9.94% to settle at 1.4500 and Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 9.52% to 1.140 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 9 declined, while 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.50% or 0.400 to 3.600.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.32% or 0.15 to $47.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.51% or 0.26 to hit $51.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.54 to trade at $1276.16 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.24% to 4.2992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 93.90.
