Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Insurance, Finance & Investment and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.24%, while the ADX General index gained 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA), which rose 12.04% or 0.068 points to trade at 0.633 at the close. Meanwhile, Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) added 5.92% or 0.025 points to end at 0.447 and Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) was up 4.51% or 0.012 points to 0.278 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 4.32% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.770 at the close. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 1.27% or 0.006 points to end at 0.466 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was down 1.22% or 0.020 points to 1.620.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which rose 6.10% to 4.35, Union Natl Bk (AD:UNB) which was up 4.82% to settle at 5.000 and First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC (AD:FAB) which gained 3.23% to close at 14.70.
The worst performers were Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 5.83% to 1.130 in late trade, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which lost 5.26% to settle at 2.160 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 2.28% to 0.772 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 9 declined, while 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.04% or 0.068 to 0.633. Shares in Union Natl Bk (AD:UNB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.82% or 0.230 to 5.000. Shares in Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.26% or 0.120 to 2.160.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.74% or 0.50 to $68.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.83% or 0.64 to hit $77.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1199.30 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.14% to 4.2500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 95.29.
