Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO), which rose 7.50% or 0.30 points to trade at 4.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) added 7.28% or 0.190 points to end at 2.800 and Bagfas (IS:BAGFS) was up 5.71% or 0.80 points to 14.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which fell 7.23% or 2.05 points to trade at 26.30 at the close. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) declined 5.90% or 0.800 points to end at 12.750 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was down 5.82% or 0.170 points to 2.750.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 223 to 183 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.50% or 0.30 to 4.30. Shares in Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) rose to all time highs; gaining 7.28% or 0.190 to 2.800.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.72% or 8.50 to $1195.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.38% or 1.99 to hit $60.92 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.54% or 1.69 to trade at $68.14 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.01% to 2.7129, while EUR/TRY rose 0.33% to 3.0345.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 95.25.
