Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Sports and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.74%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA), which rose 4.20% or 0.250 points to trade at 6.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 3.08% or 0.360 points to end at 12.040 and Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE) was up 1.64% or 0.080 points to 4.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which fell 7.22% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 6.91% or 0.380 points to end at 5.120 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) was down 6.57% or 0.87 points to 12.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 367 to 26 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) rose to all time highs; rising 3.08% or 0.360 to 12.040.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.39% or 4.80 to $1222.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.85% or 1.25 to hit $68.91 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.93 to trade at $73.32 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.44% to 5.0665, while EUR/TRY rose 1.15% to 5.8932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 94.78.
