Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Sports and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.38%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA), which rose 11.76% or 0.800 points to trade at 7.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) added 10.11% or 11.20 points to end at 122.00 and Aygaz AS (IS:AYGAZ) was up 9.52% or 1.00 points to 11.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS), which fell 15.61% or 2.77 points to trade at 14.98 at the close. Turkiye Is Bankasi AS Class C (IS:ISCTR) declined 13.22% or 0.600 points to end at 3.940 and Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) was down 13.02% or 0.250 points to 1.670.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 347 to 50 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) rose to all time highs; up 11.76% or 0.800 to 7.600. Shares in Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 15.61% or 2.77 to 14.98. Shares in Turkiye Is Bankasi AS Class C (IS:ISCTR) fell to 3-years lows; losing 13.22% or 0.600 to 3.940. Shares in Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) fell to 5-year lows; losing 13.02% or 0.250 to 1.670.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.34% or 16.30 to $1202.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.45% or 1.66 to hit $65.97 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.90% or 1.38 to trade at $71.43 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 9.43% to 7.0069, while EUR/TRY rose 9.13% to 7.9869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.25.
