Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO), which rose 4.46% or 0.150 points to trade at 3.510 at the close. Meanwhile, Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) added 2.32% or 0.070 points to end at 3.090 and Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) was up 2.01% or 0.110 points to 5.590 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA), which fell 4.99% or 0.280 points to trade at 5.330 at the close. Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) declined 4.88% or 7.00 points to end at 136.40 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) was down 4.82% or 0.62 points to 12.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 254 to 106 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.32% or 0.070 to 3.090.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.85% or 26.45 to $1458.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.76% or 1.49 to hit $55.44 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.45% or 1.48 to trade at $61.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.86% to 5.5536, while EUR/TRY fell 0.59% to 6.1716.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 97.880.
