Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Banking and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.73% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which rose 4.74% or 0.720 points to trade at 15.910 at the close. Meanwhile, Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 2.59% or 0.110 points to end at 4.350 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was up 2.21% or 0.50 points to 23.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO), which fell 6.62% or 0.190 points to trade at 2.680 at the close. Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) declined 4.35% or 0.060 points to end at 1.320 and Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) was down 4.30% or 0.120 points to 2.670.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 278 to 93 and 33 ended unchanged.
Shares in Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.30% or 0.120 to 2.670.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.68% or 8.90 to $1314.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $67.86 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $73.35 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.34% to 4.2329, while EUR/TRY rose 1.57% to 5.0716.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 92.38.
