Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.61% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which rose 6.42% or 0.690 points to trade at 11.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) added 3.77% or 0.100 points to end at 2.750 and Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) was up 3.42% or 0.27 points to 8.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO), which fell 5.31% or 0.99 points to trade at 17.66 at the close. Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) declined 4.64% or 1.68 points to end at 34.50 and Koc Holding AS (IS:KCHOL) was down 4.14% or 0.67 points to 15.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 217 to 132 and 57 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.11% or 1.35 to $1285.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.40% or 0.87 to hit $61.38 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.52% or 1.08 to trade at $70.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.42% to 6.1630, while EUR/TRY rose 1.14% to 6.8858.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 97.472.
