Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Sports, Telecoms and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.30%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER), which rose 6.60% or 0.47 points to trade at 7.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Verusa Holding AS (IS:VERUS) added 5.76% or 0.98 points to end at 17.98 and Ittifak Holding AS (IS:ITTFH) was up 4.44% or 0.270 points to 6.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS), which fell 12.40% or 0.310 points to trade at 2.190 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 10.00% or 0.050 points to end at 0.450 and Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) was down 6.45% or 0.14 points to 2.03.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 290 to 82 and 33 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.91% or 11.75 to $1272.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.82% or 2.43 to hit $61.17 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.13% or 2.26 to trade at $69.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.09% to 5.9694, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 6.6747.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 97.528.
