Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Electricity, Wood, Paper & Printing and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN), which rose 3.59% or 10.50 points to trade at 303.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM) added 2.91% or 0.200 points to end at 7.080 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) was up 2.38% or 0.210 points to 9.030 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which fell 7.43% or 0.390 points to trade at 4.860 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 6.69% or 0.390 points to end at 5.440 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) was down 3.51% or 1.14 points to 31.38.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 244 to 118 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM) rose to all time highs; up 2.91% or 0.200 to 7.080. Shares in SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) rose to all time highs; rising 2.38% or 0.210 to 9.030.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.72% or 8.90 to $1250.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.28% or 0.16 to hit $56.98 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.77% or 0.49 to trade at $62.85 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.48% to 3.8293, while EUR/TRY fell 0.31% to 4.5060.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.85.
