Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Leasing & Factoring and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which rose 8.23% or 0.190 points to trade at 2.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS:TATGD) added 7.79% or 0.320 points to end at 4.430 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) was up 5.12% or 1.300 points to 26.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which fell 3.65% or 1.16 points to trade at 30.58 at the close. Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) declined 3.63% or 0.070 points to end at 1.860 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) was down 3.33% or 0.12 points to 3.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 207 to 148 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.33% or 0.12 to 3.48.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.29% or 3.50 to $1202.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.29% or 0.90 to hit $68.97 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.73 to trade at $77.44 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.03% to 6.5999, while EUR/TRY fell 0.64% to 7.6767.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 95.10.
