Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Sports and Metal Products & Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA), which rose 8.43% or 0.520 points to trade at 6.690 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Gayrimenkul Proje Gelistirme ve Ticaret AS (IS:IHLGM) added 6.90% or 0.060 points to end at 0.930 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) was up 6.90% or 0.310 points to 4.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gentas Genel Metal Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GENTS), which fell 3.33% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.450 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) declined 3.14% or 0.06 points to end at 1.85 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) was down 2.68% or 0.080 points to 2.900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 168 to 166 and 70 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gentas Genel Metal Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GENTS) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.33% or 0.050 to 1.450.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.94% or 12.15 to $1285.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.97% or 1.22 to hit $63.24 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.34 to trade at $73.11 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.65% to 6.0365, while EUR/TRY rose 0.46% to 6.7479.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 97.613.
