Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Sports and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 4.68% or 0.230 points to trade at 5.140 at the close. Meanwhile, Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) added 4.61% or 0.280 points to end at 6.350 and Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA) was up 4.17% or 0.26 points to 6.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.76% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) declined 3.70% or 0.210 points to end at 5.460 and Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) was down 3.17% or 0.080 points to 2.440.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 206 to 166 and 35 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.33% or 16.50 to $1258.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.49% or 0.36 to hit $73.58 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.15 to trade at $77.15 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.22% to 4.6719, while EUR/TRY rose 1.24% to 5.4436.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 94.37.
