Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Leasing & Factoring, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.83%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS), which rose 6.80% or 0.370 points to trade at 5.810 at the close. Meanwhile, Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) added 6.17% or 6.80 points to end at 117.10 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) was up 5.97% or 0.270 points to 4.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Flap Kongre Toplanti Hizmetleri Otomotiv ve Turizm AS (IS:FLAP), which fell 2.66% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.930 at the close. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) declined 2.60% or 0.50 points to end at 18.70 and Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) was down 1.24% or 0.090 points to 7.190.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 265 to 83 and 61 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.77% or 10.85 to $1411.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.20% or 1.85 to hit $59.68 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 3.35% or 2.15 to trade at $66.31 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.45% to 5.7031, while EUR/TRY rose 0.01% to 6.4200.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 96.720.
