Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Tourism, Banking and Sports sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.47% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which rose 7.09% or 0.190 points to trade at 2.870 at the close. Meanwhile, Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) added 6.06% or 0.100 points to end at 1.750 and Turkiye Is Bankasi AS Class C (IS:ISCTR) was up 4.78% or 0.230 points to 5.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which fell 3.74% or 0.230 points to trade at 5.920 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.13% or 0.010 points to end at 0.310 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) was down 2.98% or 0.230 points to 7.490.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 239 to 118 and 51 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.25% or 3.20 to $1290.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.41% or 1.26 to hit $51.05 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.66% or 1.02 to trade at $60.30 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.64% to 5.3660, while EUR/TRY rose 0.50% to 6.1071.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 95.817.
