Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.16% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which rose 5.99% or 4.70 points to trade at 83.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) added 5.49% or 2.60 points to end at 50.00 and Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) was up 5.07% or 0.140 points to 2.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO), which fell 5.61% or 1.30 points to trade at 21.88 at the close. Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) declined 5.17% or 0.060 points to end at 1.100 and Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) was down 3.28% or 0.060 points to 1.770.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 180 to 159 and 66 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.94% or 11.30 to $1187.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.77% or 0.55 to hit $72.12 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.52 to trade at $81.31 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 2.03% to 5.9845, while EUR/TRY fell 2.45% to 7.0013.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 94.41.
