Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Telecoms and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF), which rose 5.87% or 10.30 points to trade at 185.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Vestel Beyaz Esya Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESBE) added 5.38% or 0.94 points to end at 18.40 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was up 5.34% or 11.50 points to 226.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Is Yatirim Menkul Degerler AS (IS:ISMEN), which fell 2.35% or 0.76 points to trade at 31.60 at the close. Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) declined 1.63% or 3.00 points to end at 181.20 and Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR) was down 1.54% or 0.34 points to 21.68.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 373 to 171 and 35 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 11.30 to $2,690.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.50% or 0.35 to hit $70.23 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.27 to trade at $73.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.00% to 34.17, while EUR/TRY fell 0.36% to 37.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 103.26.
