Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Sports, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which rose 19.42% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.230 at the close. Meanwhile, Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) added 19.18% or 0.140 points to end at 0.870 and Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) was up 10.05% or 0.20 points to 2.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK), which fell 4.52% or 3.50 points to trade at 74.00 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 2.43% or 0.160 points to end at 6.430 and Anel Elektrik Proje Taahhut ve Ticaret AS (IS:ANELE) was down 2.09% or 0.070 points to 3.280.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 221 to 135 and 54 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.98% or 12.90 to $1324.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.47% or 1.57 to hit $65.11 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 1.78 to trade at $69.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.32% to 3.9224, while EUR/TRY fell 0.11% to 4.8131.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 89.77.
