Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Tourism and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 8.62% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.260 at the close. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) added 6.61% or 0.080 points to end at 1.290 and Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) was up 6.59% or 0.060 points to 0.970 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which fell 3.80% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.760 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.23% or 0.010 points to end at 0.300 and Konya Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:KONYA) was down 2.38% or 4.50 points to 184.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 263 to 110 and 36 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1229.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.90% or 1.46 to hit $51.88 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.12% or 1.84 to trade at $60.88 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.64% to 5.2534, while EUR/TRY fell 0.36% to 5.9623.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.880.
