Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Sports, Insurance and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG), which rose 7.73% or 1.19 points to trade at 16.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Yeo Teknoloji Enerji ve Endustri AS (IS:YEOTK) added 6.18% or 3.03 points to end at 52.05 and Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) was up 5.14% or 2.26 points to 46.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL), which fell 1.56% or 0.24 points to trade at 15.18 at the close. Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL) declined 1.42% or 0.18 points to end at 12.52 and Altinay Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:ALTNY) was down 1.17% or 1.00 points to 84.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 369 to 194 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.91% or 24.24 to $2,629.66 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.79% or 0.55 to hit $70.17 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.53 to trade at $73.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.22% to 35.21, while EUR/TRY rose 0.23% to 36.70.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 107.84.
