Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Information Technology and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 11.24% or 0.66 points to trade at 6.53 at the close. Meanwhile, ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) added 8.00% or 0.100 points to end at 1.350 and Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) was up 5.82% or 7.20 points to 131.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which fell 6.00% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.41 at the close. Sok Marketler (IS:SOKM) declined 5.29% or 0.49 points to end at 8.78 and Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) was down 2.78% or 0.020 points to 0.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 212 to 135 and 60 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.13% or 14.50 to $1301.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.79% or 1.58 to hit $55.01 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.11% or 2.03 to trade at $63.30 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.48% to 5.8461, while EUR/TRY fell 0.29% to 6.5191.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 97.833.
