Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Sports, Food & Beverages and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.47% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gersan Elektrik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:GEREL), which rose 20.00% or 0.400 points to trade at 2.400 at the close. Meanwhile, ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) added 9.72% or 0.450 points to end at 5.080 and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) was up 4.91% or 0.270 points to 5.770 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which fell 3.85% or 0.470 points to trade at 11.740 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 3.34% or 0.240 points to end at 6.940 and Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA) was down 2.59% or 0.150 points to 5.640.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 216 to 138 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.91% or 0.270 to 5.770.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.38% or 19.15 to $1408.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 3.66% or 2.16 to hit $56.93 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 3.21% or 2.09 to trade at $62.97 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.15% to 5.6345, while EUR/TRY rose 0.01% to 6.3689.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 96.238.
