Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Sports, Telecoms and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which rose 8.27% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentas Genel Metal Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GENTS) added 6.16% or 0.090 points to end at 1.550 and Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) was up 5.26% or 0.050 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO), which fell 3.57% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Anadolu Cam Sanayi AS (IS:ANACM) declined 3.23% or 0.090 points to end at 2.700 and Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) was down 2.78% or 0.94 points to 32.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 229 to 119 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) fell to all time lows; falling 3.57% or 0.040 to 1.080.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.43% or 5.45 to $1282.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.11% or 1.84 to hit $57.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.11% or 1.45 to trade at $67.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.05% to 6.0300, while EUR/TRY fell 0.19% to 6.7133.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 98.023.
