Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Tourism, Sports and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which rose 5.77% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) added 5.54% or 0.280 points to end at 5.330 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was up 4.91% or 0.240 points to 5.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which fell 2.94% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.320 at the close. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) declined 2.83% or 1.75 points to end at 60.10 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) was down 2.33% or 0.010 points to 0.420.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 270 to 101 and 38 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.70 to $1251.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.98% or 0.71 to hit $73.47 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.12 to trade at $77.34 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.50% to 4.5998, while EUR/TRY fell 0.26% to 5.3338.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.91.
