Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Construction and Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.90% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mobiletron (TW:1533), which rose 9.97% or 3.40 points to trade at 37.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Mosel (TW:2342) added 9.83% or 0.23 points to end at 2.57 and Sitronix (TW:8016) was up 4.81% or 3.80 points to 82.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cci (TW:6230), which fell 10.00% or 5.70 points to trade at 51.30 at the close. Tonlin Dept (TW:2910) declined 9.95% or 2.80 points to end at 25.35 and Chong Hong Con (TW:5534) was down 9.93% or 5.50 points to 49.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 767 to 75 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cci (TW:6230) fell to 52-week lows; losing 10.00% or 5.70 to 51.30. Shares in Tonlin Dept (TW:2910) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.95% or 2.80 to 25.35. Shares in Chong Hong Con (TW:5534) fell to 3-years lows; losing 9.93% or 5.50 to 49.90.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.54% or 0.23 to $42.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.28% or 0.14 to hit $48.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.24% or 2.70 to trade at $1119.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.64% to 32.440, while TWD/CNY rose 0.46% to 0.1974.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.77.
