Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Electronics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Plotech Co Ltd (TW:6141), which rose 9.83% or 1.45 points to trade at 16.20 at the close. Meanwhile, ADLINK Technology Inc (TW:6166) added 7.78% or 3.30 points to end at 45.70 and Rectron Ltd (TW:2302) was up 7.64% or 0.72 points to 10.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519), which fell 9.91% or 0.66 points to trade at 6.00 at the close. Taisol Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3338) declined 6.03% or 2.10 points to end at 32.70 and Silergy Corp (TW:6415) was down 5.24% or 24.50 points to 443.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 500 to 281 and 131 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.62% or 0.32 to $52.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.62% or 0.37 to hit $60.18 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.05 to trade at $1305.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 30.832, while TWD/CNY fell 0.16% to 0.2185.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 95.368.
