Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mobiletron Electronics Co Ltd (TW:1533), which rose 9.95% or 3.85 points to trade at 42.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958) added 9.94% or 0.99 points to end at 10.95 and Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) was up 9.94% or 4.50 points to 49.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ching Feng Home Fashions Co Ltd (TW:9935), which fell 9.64% or 3.20 points to trade at 30.00 at the close. Darwin Precisions Corp (TW:6120) declined 8.93% or 2.70 points to end at 27.55 and Asia Optical Co Inc (TW:3019) was down 8.43% or 10.50 points to 114.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 464 to 306 and 108 ended unchanged.
Shares in Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.94% or 0.99 to 10.95. Shares in Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) rose to 5-year highs; rising 9.94% or 4.50 to 49.75.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.22% or 0.12 to hit $54.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.29 to trade at $1334.99 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 30.043, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2182.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 91.80.
