Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Silitech Technology Corp (TW:3311), which rose 9.82% or 1.40 points to trade at 15.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958) added 7.50% or 5.20 points to end at 74.50 and Chuwa Wool Industry Co Taiwan Ltd (TW:1439) was up 5.86% or 1.55 points to 28.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were APAQ Technology Co Ltd (TW:6449), which fell 9.97% or 4.55 points to trade at 41.10 at the close. Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442) declined 9.81% or 1.55 points to end at 14.25 and Nanya Technology Corp (TW:2408) was down 9.59% or 6.10 points to 57.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 741 to 105 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nanya Technology Corp (TW:2408) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.59% or 6.10 to 57.50.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.25% or 0.17 to $67.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $76.58 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1206.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 30.770, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2223.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.91.
