Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electronic Products Distribution sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467), which rose 9.92% or 3.30 points to trade at 36.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Solomon Technology Corp (TW:2359) added 9.78% or 1.75 points to end at 19.65 and Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) was up 9.76% or 10.00 points to 112.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519), which fell 9.86% or 0.49 points to trade at 4.48 at the close. Elite Material Co Ltd (TW:2383) declined 8.98% or 6.80 points to end at 68.90 and Eastern Media International Corp (TW:2614) was down 6.53% or 0.95 points to 13.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 645 to 171 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.92% or 3.30 to 36.55. Shares in Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519) fell to all time lows; down 9.86% or 0.49 to 4.48. Shares in Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.76% or 10.00 to 112.50.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.85% or 0.93 to $49.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.78% or 1.06 to hit $58.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.70 to trade at $1250.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.04% to 30.823, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.618.
