Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Electronic Products Distribution and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were ALi Corp (TW:3041), which rose 9.97% or 2.85 points to trade at 31.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593) added 8.65% or 0.64 points to end at 8.04 and Tai Roun Products Co Ltd (TW:1220) was up 8.36% or 1.40 points to 18.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chia Her Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1449), which fell 9.95% or 2.90 points to trade at 26.25 at the close. Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) declined 9.94% or 2.60 points to end at 23.55 and Formosa Oilseed Processing Co Ltd (TW:1225) was down 9.91% or 7.60 points to 69.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Tai Roun Products Co Ltd (TW:1220) rose to 52-week highs; rising 8.36% or 1.40 to 18.15.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.67% or 0.46 to $69.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.64% or 0.46 to hit $72.65 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 9.29 to trade at $2,727.69 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 32.55, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.04% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 106.09.
