Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Optoelectronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Lien Chang Electronic Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2431) added 10.00% or 1.75 points to end at 19.25 and Taiwan Pelican Express Co Ltd (TW:2642) was up 9.97% or 3.75 points to 41.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399), which fell 10.00% or 4.05 points to trade at 36.45 at the close. Min Aik Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:4545) declined 9.97% or 7.20 points to end at 65.00 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) was down 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 3-years highs; rising 350.24% or 7.39 to 9.50. Shares in Lien Chang Electronic Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2431) rose to 5-year highs; up 10.00% or 1.75 to 19.25.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.03 to $67.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $70.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 6.40 to trade at $2,762.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.03% to 32.10, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.17.
