Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jentech Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3653), which rose 10.00% or 7.70 points to trade at 84.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434) added 10.00% or 1.25 points to end at 13.75 and Hsin Ba Ba Corp (TW:9906) was up 9.92% or 1.20 points to 13.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:6456), which fell 9.82% or 16.50 points to trade at 151.50 at the close. Action Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3024) declined 6.52% or 0.550 points to end at 7.880 and Hotel Holiday Garden (TW:2702) was down 6.39% or 1.15 points to 16.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 570 to 237 and 105 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.19% or 0.13 to $68.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $77.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1202.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 30.793, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2226.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 95.12.
