Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Semiconductor sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526), which rose 9.98% or 2.55 points to trade at 28.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) added 9.95% or 7.70 points to end at 85.10 and HannsTouch Solution Inc (TW:3049) was up 9.92% or 0.72 points to 7.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which fell 9.93% or 15.00 points to trade at 136.00 at the close. Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) declined 9.78% or 0.93 points to end at 8.58 and Inventec Corp (TW:2356) was down 9.50% or 2.45 points to 23.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 471 to 319 and 112 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) fell to 3-years lows; falling 9.78% or 0.93 to 8.58.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.28% or 0.77 to $59.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.00% or 0.70 to hit $69.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1203.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.15% to 30.888, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2248.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 97.38.
