Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Glass and Optoelectronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ji-Haw Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3011), which rose 10.00% or 0.70 points to trade at 7.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Tah Tong Textile Co Ltd (TW:1441) added 10.00% or 0.81 points to end at 8.91 and Enlight Corp (TW:2438) was up 9.97% or 0.97 points to 10.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chung Hung Steel Corp (TW:2014), which fell 9.96% or 1.35 points to trade at 12.20 at the close. Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) declined 9.89% or 1.85 points to end at 16.85 and Hai Kwang Enterprise Corp (TW:2038) was down 6.87% or 1.00 points to 13.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 608 to 206 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.89% or 1.85 to 16.85. Shares in Enlight Corp (TW:2438) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.97% or 0.97 to 10.70.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.24% or 0.15 to $61.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.31% or 0.20 to hit $64.57 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.30 to trade at $1326.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 29.302, while TWD/CNY fell 0.37% to 0.2160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 90.10.
