Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Glass and Other Electronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lumax (TW:6192), which rose 10.00% or 5.50 points to trade at 60.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Sunrace (TW:1526) added 9.94% or 1.60 points to end at 17.70 and Cheer Time (TW:3229) was up 9.75% or 1.15 points to 12.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tah Tong Texti (TW:1441), which fell 6.44% or 0.52 points to trade at 7.56 at the close. Genesis Photon (TW:3383) declined 4.63% or 0.15 points to end at 3.09 and Yoko Tech (TW:6131) was down 3.95% or 0.70 points to 17.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 525 to 254 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lumax (TW:6192) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 5.50 to 60.50. Shares in Tah Tong Texti (TW:1441) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.44% or 0.52 to 7.56.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.20% or 0.10 to $48.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.21% or 0.11 to hit $52.10 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 1.98 to trade at $1256.72 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.22% to 30.219, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2289.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 97.59.
