Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208), which rose 9.99% or 3.70 points to trade at 40.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Long Chen Paper Co Ltd (TW:1909) added 9.96% or 2.50 points to end at 27.60 and Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) was up 9.92% or 1.20 points to 13.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yageo Corp (TW:2327), which fell 9.97% or 93.00 points to trade at 840.00 at the close. Darfon Electronics Corp (TW:8163) declined 9.97% or 6.30 points to end at 56.90 and Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026) was down 9.91% or 22.50 points to 204.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 536 to 282 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208) rose to all time highs; gaining 9.99% or 3.70 to 40.75.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.49% or 0.34 to $69.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.25% or 0.19 to hit $74.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1219.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 30.627, while TWD/CNY rose 0.27% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 94.49.
