Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Machinery and Paper & Pulp sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.37% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aero Win Technology Corp (TW:8222), which rose 9.97% or 1.90 points to trade at 20.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Unitech Printed Circuit Board Corp (TW:2367) added 9.92% or 1.80 points to end at 19.95 and Tatung Co (TW:2371) was up 9.78% or 1.55 points to 17.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:6456), which fell 9.87% or 22.50 points to trade at 205.50 at the close. Rexon Industrial Corp Ltd (TW:1515) declined 8.78% or 4.90 points to end at 50.90 and Foxsemicon Integrated Technology Inc (TW:3413) was down 8.12% or 16.00 points to 181.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 503 to 253 and 119 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unitech Printed Circuit Board Corp (TW:2367) rose to 5-year highs; rising 9.92% or 1.80 to 19.95.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $55.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $61.31 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.53% or 6.70 to trade at $1259.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 30.042, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2198.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.65.
