Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Auto and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which rose 10.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Coland Holdings Ltd (TW:4144) added 9.97% or 2.85 points to end at 31.45 and Asmedia Technology Inc (TW:5269) was up 9.91% or 42.50 points to 471.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chuwa Wool Industry Co Taiwan Ltd (TW:1439), which fell 9.95% or 3.80 points to trade at 34.40 at the close. Chilisin Electronics Corp (TW:2456) declined 8.95% or 8.10 points to end at 82.40 and Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) was down 8.31% or 5.60 points to 61.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 577 to 248 and 72 ended unchanged.
Shares in Chilisin Electronics Corp (TW:2456) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.95% or 8.10 to 82.40. Shares in Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) fell to all time lows; losing 8.31% or 5.60 to 61.80.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.39% or 0.27 to $68.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.44% or 0.35 to hit $79.64 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1232.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.32% to 30.901, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2229.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 95.65.
