Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Cement and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Genius (TW:3406), which rose 10.00% or 19.00 points to trade at 209.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Goodway (TW:1583) added 9.98% or 6.40 points to end at 70.50 and Microelectroni (TW:2314) was up 9.83% or 2.85 points to 31.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Favite (TW:3535), which fell 9.19% or 1.75 points to trade at 17.30 at the close. Roo Hsing (TW:4414) declined 8.10% or 1.90 points to end at 21.55 and Enlight Corp (TW:2438) was down 7.94% or 0.85 points to 9.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 580 to 210 and 85 ended unchanged.
Shares in Goodway (TW:1583) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.98% or 6.40 to 70.50. Shares in Microelectroni (TW:2314) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.83% or 2.85 to 31.85.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.79% or 0.39 to $49.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.69% or 0.36 to hit $52.55 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.46% or 5.55 to trade at $1197.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 31.080, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2234.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 101.95.
