Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Electronic Parts/Components sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Action Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3024), which rose 10.00% or 0.610 points to trade at 6.710 at the close. Meanwhile, Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) added 9.96% or 3.55 points to end at 39.20 and Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) was up 9.75% or 1.35 points to 15.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518), which fell 9.95% or 3.85 points to trade at 34.85 at the close. Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153) declined 9.68% or 4.30 points to end at 40.10 and Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) was down 9.61% or 2.60 points to 24.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 491 to 280 and 108 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.67% or 0.39 to $58.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.33% or 0.86 to hit $65.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1247.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.02% to 30.027, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2203.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 93.87.
