Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Other Electronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taisol Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3338), which rose 9.91% or 3.15 points to trade at 34.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:3025) added 9.83% or 1.70 points to end at 19.00 and Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) was up 9.70% or 13.00 points to 147.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467), which fell 7.08% or 2.45 points to trade at 32.15 at the close. Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW:1470) declined 5.59% or 1.00 points to end at 16.90 and Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) was down 5.37% or 1.05 points to 18.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 439 to 352 and 124 ended unchanged.
Shares in Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.70% or 13.00 to 147.00.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.12% or 0.07 to hit $57.40 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.40 to trade at $1284.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 30.847, while TWD/CNY rose 0.07% to 0.2223.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 95.417.
