Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Trading & Consumer Goods and Other Electronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Abocom Systems Inc (TW:2444), which rose 9.93% or 1.50 points to trade at 16.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Inventec Besta Co Ltd (TW:8201) added 9.82% or 1.35 points to end at 15.10 and Eastern Media International Corp (TW:2614) was up 8.79% or 1.20 points to 14.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were President Chain Store Corp (TW:2912), which fell 9.93% or 36.50 points to trade at 331.00 at the close. Unitech Computer Co Ltd (TW:2414) declined 6.44% or 1.40 points to end at 20.35 and Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) was down 6.00% or 0.75 points to 11.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 429 to 359 and 128 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.45% or 0.31 to $68.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.91% or 0.67 to hit $74.11 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1227.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.03% to 30.613, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2212.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.31.
