Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Paper & Pulp sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Apex Medical Corp (TW:4106), which rose 9.85% or 2.55 points to trade at 28.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) added 9.68% or 1.20 points to end at 13.60 and AzureWave Technologies Inc (TW:3694) was up 8.75% or 1.85 points to 23.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), which fell 8.18% or 8.10 points to trade at 90.90 at the close. CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208) declined 6.79% or 2.90 points to end at 39.80 and Yungtay Engineering Co Ltd (TW:1507) was down 4.87% or 2.45 points to 47.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 482 to 312 and 120 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.14% or 0.10 to $72.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $81.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.70 to trade at $1185.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.07% to 30.515, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 94.68.
