Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Cement sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jenn Feng (TW:1538), which rose 9.98% or 0.56 points to trade at 6.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Dfi (TW:2397) added 9.96% or 5.20 points to end at 57.40 and Epileds Tech (TW:4956) was up 9.95% or 1.90 points to 21.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475), which fell 9.09% or 1.05 points to trade at 10.50 at the close. Airmate (TW:1626) declined 7.13% or 2.05 points to end at 26.70 and Via Tech (TW:2388) was down 5.56% or 0.65 points to 11.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 385 to 362 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Epileds Tech (TW:4956) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.95% or 1.90 to 21.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.57% or 0.75 to $46.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.40% or 0.70 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.40% or 5.25 to trade at $1320.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 31.817, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2088.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.56.
