Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Optoelectronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Shuttle Inc (TW:2405), which rose 9.68% or 1.20 points to trade at 13.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Elan Microelectronics Corp (TW:2458) added 9.62% or 4.45 points to end at 50.70 and Chi Mei Materials Technology Corp (TW:4960) was up 8.73% or 1.20 points to 14.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Young Optics Inc (TW:3504), which fell 6.30% or 4.10 points to trade at 61.00 at the close. Elite Material Co Ltd (TW:2383) declined 5.00% or 6.00 points to end at 114.00 and Darwin Precisions Corp (TW:6120) was down 4.76% or 1.40 points to 28.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 380 to 368 and 129 ended unchanged.
Shares in Shuttle Inc (TW:2405) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.68% or 1.20 to 13.60. Shares in Elan Microelectronics Corp (TW:2458) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.62% or 4.45 to 50.70.
Crude oil for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $54.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $60.58 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.77 to trade at $1279.07 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.16% to 30.193, while TWD/CNY rose 0.32% to 0.2193.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 94.44.
