Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Electricity and Iron & Steel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which rose 10.00% or 1.45 points to trade at 15.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Cmc Magnetics (TW:2323) added 9.97% or 0.390 points to end at 4.300 and Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475) was up 9.91% or 1.05 points to 11.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Winbond (TW:2344), which fell 7.42% or 0.95 points to trade at 11.85 at the close. Federal Corp (TW:2102) declined 5.80% or 1.05 points to end at 17.05 and Sintronic Tech (TW:3536) was down 5.68% or 1.30 points to 21.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 406 to 379 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cmc Magnetics (TW:2323) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.97% or 0.390 to 4.300.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.81% or 0.42 to $51.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.45% or 0.25 to hit $54.80 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.85 to trade at $1233.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 31.086, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2216.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 100.45.
