Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Auto sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.09% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Swancor (TW:4733), which rose 9.95% or 19.00 points to trade at 210.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Precision (TW:3016) added 9.80% or 1.00 points to end at 11.20 and Fortune Info (TW:2468) was up 9.76% or 1.00 points to 11.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Htc Corp (TW:2498), which fell 10.00% or 7.00 points to trade at 63.00 at the close. Abocom Systems (TW:2444) declined 9.88% or 1.25 points to end at 11.40 and Arcadyan Tech (TW:3596) was down 9.79% or 2.35 points to 21.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 500 to 335 and 5 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.41% or 0.18 to $44.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $49.74 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.16% or 1.70 to trade at $1091.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.30% to 31.658, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.1963.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 97.94.
