Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jentech (TW:3653), which rose 9.97% or 5.70 points to trade at 62.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Taiwan Mask (TW:2338) added 9.80% or 1.25 points to end at 14.00 and Lung Hwa Eltrs (TW:2424) was up 9.37% or 2.40 points to 28.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were San Chih (TW:3579), which fell 3.45% or 0.45 points to trade at 12.60 at the close. Global View (TW:3040) declined 3.34% or 1.40 points to end at 40.50 and Jui Li (TW:1512) was down 3.13% or 0.25 points to 7.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 411 to 342 and 123 ended unchanged.
Shares in Taiwan Mask (TW:2338) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.80% or 1.25 to 14.00.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.63% or 0.78 to $48.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.39% or 0.71 to hit $51.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.05 to trade at $1203.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.23% to 30.885, while TWD/CNY rose 0.22% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.38.
